Description

The Pianopoli 1 is a clear glass pendant with forty lights, hung from a round chrome ceiling plate on fine suspension wires that let the glass drops fall in a long spiral cascade. Each drop is a little flower of clear brilliant glass, and the body is steel with a chrome finish that reflects the light. It measures 334cm tall overall and 78cm across, so this is a pendant for real height. The light comes from integrated LEDs, forty lights at 1.8W each and 240 lumens per light, in a warm 3000K white. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

With such a long drop, it suits stairwells, double-height hallways and tall entrance halls, where a single pendant has to fill a lot of vertical space. The spiral reads well from every angle, so it looks as good from the landing as from the hall floor. Because it is dimmable, you can run it bright for a grand welcome or bring it down to a soft glow in the evening, and the clear glass keeps the whole piece light to the eye even at this size.
