Description

The Photonix is an IP44-rated outdoor wall light with an anthracite powder-coated aluminium frame and a matt white plastic diffuser. The cylindrical body mounts horizontally on a rectangular backplate, with the frosted diffuser sitting at the open end of the cylinder. The fitting takes one E27 bulb (sold separately), which lights the diffuser from within and casts a soft wash of light outward and downward along the wall.

Designed for exterior use on porches, patios, garage doors and side entrances where weather-resistant lighting is needed, the IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction. The compact 90mm width and 95mm projection suit wall areas with limited clearance, and the anthracite grey finish pairs with modern rendered facades, timber cladding and brickwork in both warm and cool tones.

The extruded aluminium frame is lightweight but rigid, with internal fixings concealed behind the backplate once installed. The anthracite powder coating resists UV fade and moisture corrosion better than painted finishes, making the fitting suitable for south-facing walls exposed to direct sun. The diffuser removes without tools for bulb changes, and the E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to the fitting's maximum wattage rating.

The fitting takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W for outdoor accent lighting or 10-15W for functional porch illumination.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming, so bulb and dimmer compatibility determines the final dimming capability.

How is the diffuser removed for bulb changes?
