Description

The Phosora is a 500mm diameter dome pendant light finished in matt corten — a warm, earthy brown tone that sits between terracotta and coffee. The metal shade features an internal enamelled parabola with concentric ribs that diffuse light evenly downward and prevent direct glare from the E27 bulb inside. The shade sits 290mm deep from ceiling rose to rim.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and hallways with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Phosora works where a larger pendant is needed to balance room proportions. The 500mm diameter suits tables and islands 1.2-1.8m long, positioned 700-800mm above the surface to provide task light without blocking sightlines. The fabric-covered cable is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to be raised or lowered within its maximum drop.

The corten finish is a smooth matt powder coat rather than true weathered corten steel, giving consistent colour across the exterior without the rust patina of raw corten. The underside is left cream-white to reflect light back through the enamelled parabola, which adds texture to the downward light pattern. At 500mm the Phosora has presence without overwhelming mid-sized spaces, and the matt finish reduces reflections under daylight.

The pendant accepts a standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor spaces only. From Ideal Lux, Italy.

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for dining or ambient lighting.

Yes, when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable bulb. The fixture itself supports dimming but requires both the dimmer and bulb to be rated for dimming use.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 290mm shade depth plus the adjustable cable drop means the pendant works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For dining tables or kitchen islands, the pendant typically hangs 700-800mm above the surface, which requires a total ceiling height of at least 2.2m depending on table height.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoor covered areas?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor spaces only. The pendant is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs or sinks, or any outdoor or damp locations.
