The 45mm projection depth allows installation in most ceiling void depths, and the fixed beam angle suits general circulation areas, display shelving and kitchen worktops where spill light needs to be controlled. The neutral 4000K colour temperature renders surfaces and materials accurately without the warmth of 3000K or the clinical tone of 5000K.

The die-cast aluminium construction dissipates heat efficiently from the LED modules, helping to maintain consistent output over the rated lifespan. The black polycarbonate reflectors reduce glare by controlling light spill while directing the beam downward, and the white trim frame integrates cleanly with white or off-white ceiling finishes. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations — this fitting is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installations.

Is the Phosix Trim dimmable?

No. The integrated LED modules are not compatible with dimmer switches. Installing this fitting on a dimmed circuit may cause flickering or failure to illuminate.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The 45mm projection depth requires a minimum ceiling void of approximately 50-60mm to accommodate the fitting body and wiring connections. Check the ceiling construction before cutting the aperture.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher rated fittings depending on the zone. Use this fitting in hallways, living rooms, retail spaces and offices instead.

What does 4000K colour temperature look like?

4000K is neutral white — cooler than the warm 2700-3000K typically used in residential living spaces, but warmer than the 5000-6000K found in clinical or industrial settings. It renders colours accurately and is widely used in offices, retail and modern kitchens.
