Description
The Phosix Trim is a 278mm linear recessed downlight housing 10 individual LED modules in a single die-cast aluminium body, delivering a combined 20W output at 4000K neutral white. The matt black finish covers the visible trim face while a glossy black polycarbonate reflector sits behind each module to direct light downward and reduce ceiling glare.
Designed for commercial and residential installation where multiple individual downlights would be impractical, the Phosix Trim fits a single rectangular ceiling aperture and provides the equivalent of 10 separate spotlight positions in one fitting. This makes it suitable for retail display lighting, kitchen worktop runs, gallery walls, and corridor ceilings where a continuous light line is needed without fitting 10 separate recessed housings. The 45mm projection depth requires ceiling void clearance for the driver and heat dissipation.
The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting structural rigidity and acts as a heat sink for the LED modules, keeping operating temperatures within safe limits during continuous use. The matt black finish sits flush with the ceiling plane once installed, with no visible fixing screws or trim clips on the face. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light often specified for task lighting and commercial environments where colour rendering needs to be consistent across the space.
The Phosix Trim carries an IP20 rating, limiting installation to dry indoor environments. The integrated LEDs are not replaceable but are backed by a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux, covering both driver and LED module failure during normal use.

Frequently Asked
Is this downlight dimmable?
No. The Phosix Trim is a non-dimmable fitting. The integrated driver provides fixed 20W output to the LED modules with no dimming capability.
What ceiling void depth is needed?
The fitting projects 45mm above the ceiling plane, so a minimum 60-70mm void depth is recommended to allow space for the driver, cable connections and heat dissipation around the housing during operation.
Can the LEDs be replaced?
No. The LEDs are integrated into the module array and are not user-replaceable. The fitting is backed by a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux covering both driver and LED module failure.
What is the beam angle?
The glossy black polycarbonate reflectors behind each module create a directional downward beam. Ideal Lux does not specify the exact beam angle for this model, but the reflector design suggests a medium to narrow distribution rather than wide flood.
