Description

The Phosix is a surface-mounted LED downlight housing four integrated 12W LEDs inside a white die-cast aluminium body. Each of the four light sources sits within a black recessed cavity fitted with a polycarbonate reflector and five specialised lenses that control beam angle and minimise glare. The entire fitting measures 135mm in length and projects 35mm from the ceiling, giving a low-profile presence suitable for modern interiors with standard or low ceiling heights.

Designed for commercial office spaces, retail areas, kitchens and corridors where uniform task lighting is required without ceiling recesses, the Phosix mounts directly to the ceiling surface using a concealed fixing plate. The four 3000K LED sources produce warm white light with a Unified Glare Rating below 16, making the fitting appropriate for workspace desks, food preparation areas and circulation zones where glare control matters. The polycarbonate reflector and lens array distribute light evenly downward, avoiding hotspots and shadows.

The die-cast aluminium construction acts as a passive heatsink, dissipating LED heat without fans or active cooling. The white powder-coated finish pairs with white or neutral ceilings in offices, clinical spaces and hospitality environments. The integrated LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours of operation, which translates to approximately 11 years at 12 hours daily use before significant lumen degradation occurs. The fitting carries an IP20 rating, restricting it to dry indoor locations only.

Is this fitting dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The fitting operates at full output when switched on.

Can it be recessed into the ceiling?

No. The Phosix is a surface-mounted fitting designed to sit on top of the ceiling surface, not within a ceiling void. The 35mm projection is the distance the fitting extends below the ceiling plane once installed.

What does UGR<16 mean?

Unified Glare Rating measures discomfort glare. A UGR below 16 indicates very low glare, making the fitting suitable for workspaces where screens, paperwork or precision tasks are involved. The five-lens optical system and recessed cavities reduce direct line-of-sight to the LED sources.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting offers no protection against moisture ingress. It is restricted to dry indoor locations such as offices, hallways, kitchens (outside splash zones) and living areas.
