Description

The Perris PF/47 is a globe outdoor ceiling light that sits close to the ceiling, its rounded woven shade hanging from a short stem beneath a small dark canopy. The shade is woven from synthetic polyethylene fibre in a soft beige, and it measures 47cm across and 21cm tall, with the whole fitting 34cm tall. The canopy is 12cm across and 5cm tall. Underneath, a wide 34cm opening lets light fall straight down, while the weave softens the glow through the sides. The light source is an integrated 17.1W LED giving 967 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90 so colours look natural. Being integrated, it needs no bulb.

This is a light for the outside of the house: a porch, a covered terrace, a veranda or the overhang above a patio, anywhere you want a soft glow overhead after dark. It is rated IP54, so it is made for outdoor use, protected against dust and splashing water. At 47cm across it fills the space over a terrace dining table or a corner of garden seating, yet it drops only 34cm, so it sits comfortably under a lower porch ceiling. The warm 2700K light flatters faces and planting alike, and because it dims, we like it low for long summer evenings, turned up when you need to see.

The fitting combines stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic polyethylene fibre, the fibre forming the open weave of the shade, which gives it the look of basketwork. It runs on 230V mains power and is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. It is dimmable (TRIAC), so to dim it you will need a compatible dimmer on the circuit. Before you order, check the space: the fitting drops 34cm from the ceiling and needs 47cm of clear width for the shade.
