Description

A ceramic vase 19cm tall and 18cm across, with a full rounded belly that draws in to a short straight neck. The body is cut with close vertical flutes from the shoulder down to the foot, and the glaze sits differently on the ridges and in the grooves, so the ridges read natural and the grooves rust. The neck and the shoulder above the fluting are left plain.

At 19cm tall and 18cm across it is a low, wide vase rather than an upright one, and the neck is narrow against the width of the body. It groups with the larger Perola on a platter. It measures 18cm at its widest point, low down, so it wants the middle of a surface rather than the edge of a shelf. Indoor use only.

The vase is ceramic under a reactive glaze, which develops its own texture as it reacts in the kiln, so the depth of the rust and the way it breaks over the ridges differ from one vase to the next and no two are exactly alike. The Perola is also made at 25cm tall and 22cm across.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

19cm tall and 18cm across. The larger Perola measures 25cm tall and 22cm across.

Will every one look the same?

Not exactly. The glaze is reactive, so the texture and the depth of the colour come out differently on every vase.

Can it go outside?

No. Indoor use only.

What is it made from?

Ceramic, under a reactive glaze.

How should it be looked after?

Wipe it regularly with a soft, damp cloth, and wash it in warm soapy water when it needs more than that. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish.
