Description
The Pedra is a shallow cereal bowl in earthenware, 18cm across and 4cm high. The glaze is a soft grey that runs greener at the edges and pools paler in the middle, with fine concentric rings left across the well. A narrow band of chocolate brown circles the rim and carries over the outside edge, so the darker line shows whether the bowl is seen from above or from the side.
Four centimetres of depth and a wide open rim make this a bowl for cereal, a small helping of soup or a pudding rather than anything that needs holding in. The rim is broad enough for a spoon to rest against without sliding. Several stack together on a counter, which is how they store, and the same glaze runs across the rest of the Pedra range, so a bowl sits down with the dinner plate and the side plate on a laid table.
The bowl is earthenware and each one is finished by hand, so the grey varies in depth across the surface and the brown rim sits a little differently on every piece. Those variations come out of the making rather than being added afterwards. The Pedra range also holds a dinner plate, a side plate, a serving bowl and a dinnerware set of twelve, all under the same glaze.

Frequently Asked
How big is the bowl?
18cm across and 4cm high.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
Yes, and it can go in a microwave.
Will every bowl look the same?
No. Each one is finished by hand, so the depth of the grey and the way the brown rim sits vary from piece to piece.
What else is in the range?
A dinner plate, a side plate and a serving bowl under the same glaze, and a dinnerware set of twelve.
How should I look after it?
Wash it after every use so it does not stain, using a mild detergent, and do not leave it to soak. Handle it carefully, because earthenware chips.
