Description

Pebblewick is a single boulder of natural Spanish alabaster, carved into a rounded pebble form and lit from inside. Concentric grooves are cut around one face and wrap over the shoulder of the stone, so the surface catches light in bands rather than reading as a smooth dome. It measures 220mm wide by 200mm tall and sits directly on a surface with no base, no stem and no metalwork on show.

An integrated LED draws just 3W, which is deliberately modest: the point is a low glow held inside a heavy object rather than a lamp that lights a room. The carved grooves matter here, because each ridge holds a brighter line where the stone thins and a shadow where it thickens, so the whole surface reads as a set of soft contours instead of a single flat wash. It is a lamp that changes with the angle you see it from.

The stone is grey veined natural Spanish alabaster with solid copper hardware concealed inside, so the veining, the shape of the carving and the way the light gathers in the grooves are unique to the block. No two are alike. It suits a bedside, a hearth, a shelf or a desk corner where the object matters as much as the light. Rated IP20 for interior use. At 220mm wide against 200mm tall it is broader than it is high, so it takes up more of a bedside table than the height alone suggests and it reads best with space around it.
