Description

The Pearce is a 660mm drum pendant light with an ivory faux silk shade suspended from an aged brass ceiling pan on adjustable wire cables. The shade houses five E27 bulb sockets arranged beneath a gloss white acrylic diffuser that sits flush with the bottom edge of the drum, distributing light evenly downwards and preventing bulb glare.

Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the 660mm diameter provides substantial coverage over a table or seating area without dominating the visual field. The 2000mm cable allows the drop to be set between 252mm minimum and approximately 2200mm on installation, accommodating both standard 2.4m ceilings and double-height spaces. The aged brass finish on the canopy and central finial carries a warm, slightly tarnished tone that pairs with both traditional oak and walnut furniture and warmer-toned contemporary interiors.

The faux silk shade mimics the texture and drape of natural fabric while maintaining consistent colour and durability over time. Light passing through the ivory weave creates a soft ambient glow around the drum perimeter while the acrylic diffuser directs the majority of output downwards, making the fitting suitable for task lighting over dining tables or kitchen prep areas as well as ambient lighting in living rooms. The aged brass detailing includes a decorative finial at the base of the shade, visible when looking up at the fitting from below.

What bulbs does it take?

The Pearce takes five E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. The maximum wattage per socket is 60W, but most users pair this with 6-10W warm-white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for comfortable ambient and task lighting over a dining table or kitchen island.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable during installation only, using the 2000mm wire cables. Once the ceiling canopy is fixed and the wires are cut to length, the height cannot be adjusted without re-wiring. Set the desired height before finalising the installation.

Is the shade suitable for high-humidity rooms?

The faux silk shade is more moisture-resistant than natural fabric, but this fitting carries no IP rating and is designed for interior use in dry rooms only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor covered areas.

How is the shade cleaned?

Dust the faux silk shade regularly with a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low power, or use a barely-damp microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking the fabric or using household sprays, which can leave watermarks or discolouration.
