Pearce 30" Drum Pendant Light - Polished Chrome, Ivory Shade

The Pearce is a 762mm diameter drum pendant light with an ivory faux silk shade stretched over a cylindrical frame, suspended from a polished chrome ceiling canopy on three adjustable wire cables. A gloss white acrylic diffuser sits at the base of the drum, housing a single E27 lampholder rated for bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for larger rooms where a single overhead fitting provides primary illumination, the Pearce suits dining rooms, open-plan living areas and bedrooms with ceiling heights above 2.4m. The 2000mm suspension wires can be shortened on installation to set the pendant 600-900mm below the ceiling depending on room height and furniture layout. The acrylic diffuser prevents direct glare from the bulb while spreading light evenly downward and through the translucent ivory fabric.

The polished chrome canopy and finial reflect ambient light and pair with contemporary chrome taps, handles and mirror frames. The faux silk shade has a subtle texture visible when backlit, softening the clinical edge of the chrome without adding pattern or ornament. At 762mm width the drum provides substantial visual presence without overwhelming typical 3-4m room widths, and the 262mm shade depth keeps the overall silhouette low enough to avoid obstructing sightlines in open layouts.

The three-point suspension distributes the weight of the shade evenly and reduces visible cable sway compared to single-wire fittings. The E27 socket accepts standard Edison screw bulbs in LED, halogen or filament types, giving control over colour temperature and output — pairing with a warm-white 10-15W LED at 2700K-3000K produces ambient room light suited to evening use.

What bulb does the Pearce take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 10-15W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Can the suspension height be adjusted?

Yes. The three suspension wires provide 2000mm of cable that can be shortened during installation to set the pendant at the desired height below the ceiling. Adjustment must be done before final wiring and cannot be changed without re-accessing the ceiling rose.

Is the shade removable for cleaning?

The shade is a permanent part of the fitting. Surface dust can be removed with a soft brush or vacuum on low setting. For fabric stains, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water — avoid soaking the material or using household sprays.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In a dining room the base of the shade typically sits 700-800mm above the table surface; in a living room it can be set 900-1200mm below the ceiling to avoid head clearance issues.
