Description

The Pearce is a 762mm drum pendant light built around an ivory faux silk shade suspended from an aged brass ceiling canopy on adjustable wire cables. A matching aged brass finial sits at the base of the shade, beneath which a gloss white acrylic diffuser spreads light evenly into the room. The fitting takes three E27 bulbs (sold separately) housed inside the drum, with the combined fabric and diffuser controlling brightness and preventing glare.

Designed for large dining rooms, open-plan kitchen-living spaces and double-height entrance halls, the 762mm diameter requires ceiling heights of 2.7m or above to avoid the pendant dominating sightlines. The 2000mm wire suspension is adjustable on installation, allowing the shade to hang 700-1000mm above a dining table or kitchen island depending on ceiling height. The aged brass finish carries a warm, slightly tarnished tone that reads less reflective than polished brass and pairs well with traditional, transitional and warm contemporary interiors.

The ivory faux silk shade diffuses light softly while maintaining enough translucency to create ambient room glow rather than purely downward task light. The white acrylic diffuser at the base prevents direct bulb visibility from below and stops the shade from appearing as a black void when viewed from underneath during the day. The combination of aged brass metalwork and ivory fabric references mid-century American lighting design without leaning into reproduction styling.

What bulbs does it take and how many?

The Pearce takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with three warm-white LED bulbs between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for dining or living spaces.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 762mm diameter and 262mm shade height require ceiling heights of 2.7m or above to avoid the pendant sitting too low in the room. The 2000mm adjustable wire allows the shade to hang 700-1000mm above a table surface, which works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.8m or higher.

Can the height be adjusted after installation?

No. The wire suspension is adjustable during installation only. Once the canopy is fixed and the wiring connected, the drop length is set and cannot be changed without disconnecting the electrical supply and re-installing.

How is the ivory shade cleaned?

The faux silk fabric should be dusted with a soft brush or vacuumed gently using an upholstery attachment. Avoid water or cleaning sprays, which can stain the fabric or cause the material to warp.
