Description

The Pearce is a 356mm drum pendant light with an ivory faux silk shade suspended on adjustable wire cables from a polished chrome ceiling canopy. A matching chrome finial sits below the shade, which houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately). A gloss white acrylic diffuser at the base of the drum distributes light evenly downwards without direct glare from the bulb.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and entrance halls, the 356mm diameter suits rooms between 3-4m wide where a single pendant provides focal task or ambient light. The 2000mm suspension wire is height-adjustable on installation, allowing the shade to sit 700-900mm above a dining table or worktop depending on ceiling height. The minimum drop of 232mm from ceiling to shade base works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards.

The faux silk shade softens the light output and adds textile texture to the fitting, while the polished chrome canopy and finial provide reflective metallic contrast. The chrome finish pairs with brushed or polished steel kitchen fixtures, chrome bathroom accessories and glass or metallic furniture in contemporary and minimalist interiors. The ivory shade works in warm neutral, grey and white colour schemes without introducing strong colour contrast.

What bulb does the Pearce take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining or task lighting.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable on installation only, by shortening the suspension wires inside the ceiling canopy before the canopy is fixed to the ceiling rose. Once installed, the height is fixed until the fitting is taken down and re-installed.

What room size does the 356mm diameter suit?

The 356mm shade works best in rooms between 3-4m wide. For larger dining tables or kitchen islands over 2m long, consider pairing two Pearce pendants spaced evenly along the length rather than using a single larger pendant.

Is the shade fabric washable?

The faux silk shade is not washable. Dust can be removed with a soft brush or lint roller. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp microfibre cloth can be used, but avoid soaking the fabric or using sprays and cleaning solutions.
