This floor lamp is made of two tall, round forms: a stoneware base covered all over in deep, wavy ridges, and a slim fabric drum shade that rises straight up from it. Together they stand 110cm tall and 24cm across, and the shade on its own is 65cm tall. Its materials are stoneware, iron and polyester, and the colour is beige from top to bottom, so the textured base and the plain shade read as one calm piece. Stoneware is a dense, hard ceramic, which gives the base real presence on the floor.

Because it is only 24cm across, it fits narrow spaces where a wider lamp would not: the gap beside a sofa arm, the space next to an armchair, or the end of a bench in a hallway. When it is on, light glows through the fabric shade rather than shining down in a hard beam, which suits a living room in the evening. It takes an E27 bulb, which is not included, at up to 6W for an LED, 9W for a CFL or 40W for an incandescent bulb, so add one to your basket. The switch sits on the cord, so you can turn it on from your chair, and the 250cm clear cable gives you room to reach a socket. It is rated IP20, so keep it to dry rooms.
