Description

A wide conical serving bowl in cream ceramic, 26cm across the rim and 13.5cm tall, with straight sloping sides running down to a small flat foot. The outside is hand painted with broad tapered bands in a clay tone, each one stopping short of the rim and of the foot, and between them run fine dotted lines in a darker brown. The inside is left plain cream.

At 26cm across, this is a bowl for the middle of the table rather than one to serve from at the side, and the cone shape puts the depth in the centre, so salad or vegetables sit up in it rather than spreading flat. The small foot lifts it clear of the table. It is foodsafe and it is dishwasher safe.

The bowl is ceramic and the decoration is painted on by hand, brushstroke by brushstroke, so the width of the bands and the spacing of the dots vary from one bowl to the next. The painting is on the outside only. The Patthar range runs to dinner plates, side plates, pasta and cereal bowls, mugs, jugs, a teapot and a butter dish in the same cream and clay.

Frequently Asked

How big is the bowl?

26cm across the rim and 13.5cm tall.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes, and it is foodsafe.

Is the decoration painted or printed?

Painted by hand, with a brush, on the outside of the bowl.

Will every bowl look the same?

Not exactly. The bands and the dotted lines are painted by hand, so their width and spacing vary from bowl to bowl.

How should it be looked after?

Wash it after every use so that it does not stain, using a mild detergent, and do not leave it to soak. Handle it with care to prevent chipping.
