Description

The Parruta is a slim ring pendant light: a single black hoop, 99cm in diameter, hung on four fine wires from a round black ceiling canopy, and 150cm tall overall. The body is aluminium and steel in a black finish, with a white plastic diffuser running around the underside of the ring, so from the side you see a crisp dark line and from the table a soft band of light. The light source is an integrated LED of 40W giving 4,300 lumens, so there is no separate bulb to buy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

At 99cm across, it is sized for a large dining table or an open-plan kitchen and dining area, where a smaller pendant would look lost against the ceiling. The open hoop has no bulky shade, so it keeps the room feeling airy and lets you see straight through it across the space. Over a round table the circle neatly repeats the shape of the top. It suits anyone who wants one fitting to do two jobs: with the colour temperature running from 2700K to 6500K, you can choose a warm, relaxed glow for dinner and a cooler, crisper white for cooking, homework or paperwork.

We include a remote control in the box, and the light is controlled from it: it is dimmable, and the colour temperature adjusts across its full span. The remote runs on a CR2032 battery. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so you turn it on and off at the wall switch as normal, then set the level and the tone from the sofa or the table. This is a wired-in mains light, so a qualified electrician should install it, and the installation instructions are available as a download for them to read beforehand. Packed, it weighs 3.8KG.
