Description

Paratebueno is a flock of 17 birds in flight beneath a round black canopy. Each bird hangs on its own fine cord at a different height, so the shades fall in a loose cascade rather than a single tier. The body is black steel, and the pendant measures 78cm in diameter with an overall height of 220cm. The bird shades are steel and plastic in a satin nickel-nero finish, a deep black with a metallic sheen, and a pale diffuser sits on the underside of each one. The light source is integrated LED, so there are no separate bulbs to buy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

This is a pendant for a room with height to spare. At 220cm overall, it suits a double-height hallway, an open stairwell or a dining room with a high ceiling, where the birds can gather low above the table while the canopy sits well out of the way. Over a round dining table the cascade frames the space without crowding it. We think it suits anyone who wants a light that sparks conversation yet still does a proper job: each of the 17 lights gives 360lm at 3000K, a warm white that flatters faces and food.

Every light draws 3W and the pendant is dimmable, so you can lower the flock to a soft glow for a late dinner and raise it again for everyday tasks. There is no switch on the fitting; it is switched at the wall. It carries energy class E. The dark cords are fine enough to fade against the ceiling, which leaves the birds looking as though they hover in mid air. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. It weighs 26.83KG packed, so a second pair of hands helps when you unpack it.
