Description

Paint Round is a 90cm circle of partly transparent mirrored glass with brushed grey marks run across it near the rim. The marks are loose and directional, made with a brush rather than printed to a pattern, and they gather towards one side so the middle of the mirror stays clear to use. There is no frame.

Because the glass is only partly mirrored, the wall behind reads through it where the brushing is heaviest. That means the piece looks quite different on a dark wall than a pale one, and it is worth deciding which effect you are after before choosing the spot. The table below records a rotating suspension, so the mirror can be turned on the wall and the brushed area moved to whichever side suits, though we have no photograph of the fitting itself and will not describe how it works. It is rated bathroom proof. At 8kg and 2.5cm deep it is the lightest mirror of its size here and a comfortable one person hang.

Two screws, washers and plugs are supplied and nothing needs assembling. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth rather than at the glass, and take the brushed areas gently, since a surface treatment always wears before plain mirror does. A partly mirrored panel returns less light than a full mirror the same size, which is the trade you make for being able to see the wall through it. It is made in Belgium and carries our seven year mirror warranty.
