Description

The Overlay T50 Cognac Glass is a table lamp built in tiers. Shallow cone shades stack one over another above a cognac glass bowl, and the whole head sits on a slim stem that flares out into a round disc base. It stands 75cm tall and measures 50cm across at its widest shade. The shade is 24.2cm tall and the base is 30cm across, which gives it a steady footprint on a sideboard or a generous bedside table. We sell it in two finishes, Beige & Copper or Yellow & Grey & Beige.

It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors, and the bedroom and the living room are where it suits best. On a bedside table it gives you light for reading or winding down at the end of the day. In the living room it sits well on a sideboard, a console or a side table next to a sofa or armchair. Its layered outline makes it a good-looking object in its own right, lit or unlit. With a 50cm spread of shade, it is happiest where it has a little room around it rather than squeezed against a wall.

The design is by e27 and Tim Brauns. They built it from separate cone shades held one above another, each tier overlapping the next with a narrow gap between them, over the cognac glass bowl beneath. It runs on mains power and takes one E27 bulb of up to 13W. The bulb is not included and is sold separately. It is what gives the lamp its light, so pick one up at the same time. The lamp is not dimmable, so choose a bulb at the brightness you want rather than planning on a dimmer. We would pair it with a warm white bulb, which sits happily with the cognac glass.
