Oval Bronze Tinted Frameless Wall Mirror 160cm

Oval Bronze L is a frameless wall mirror 160cm high by 90cm wide, a clean oval cut from bronze tinted glass. The tint is in the glass rather than applied behind it, so the reflection comes back warmed and a shade darker than the room, which reads as softer than a plain mirror does. There is no frame and no visible fixing, so the shape carries the piece. At 1cm it is the thinnest mirror in the range we stock.

The oval suits a hallway, a bedroom or a bathroom, where it is rated to go, and it hangs in two directions, so it can stand upright or lie across a wider wall. Because the glass is tinted it returns less light than a clear mirror, which makes it a poor choice for brightening a dark corner and a good one where a plain mirror would feel harsh. At 15kg and 1cm deep it sits almost flat to the wall and is a comfortable one person lift, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble. Bronze reads warmer under lamplight than under daylight, so it is worth looking at the wall in both.

The mirror is a single piece of bronze tinted mirrored glass, frameless. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth rather than onto the glass, and take the cloth to the edge rather than over it, since there is no frame to stop at. There is no backing board either, so the wall shows at the edge rather than a board rim, and the fixing sits behind the glass out of sight. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.

Is the bronze a coating?

No. The tint is in the glass itself, so the reflection is warmed rather than filtered through a layer.

Does it hang upright or across?

Either. It hangs in two directions.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

Yes. It is rated bathroom proof, so steam and humidity are not a problem.

Will it brighten a dark room?

Less than a clear mirror will. Tinted glass returns less light, which is what makes the reflection softer.
