Description
The Outrack ceiling LED driver is the part that brings power to an Outrack lighting run. It is wired in to the 230V mains by a qualified electrician and powers the Outrack 24V track and the fittings it carries, so this is where the whole system starts. The driver itself gives no light. It sits in a slim rectangular housing 42cm long, 5.5cm wide and 6cm tall, with a connection point on the underside at one end, and it is made to fit on a ceiling.
This is the driver to choose when you are planning an Outrack run, indoors or out. It is rated IP65 and made for outdoor use, so it suits a terrace, a pergola or a covered patio as well as a kitchen or living room ceiling. On its own it does nothing: it needs the Outrack 24V track and the fittings it powers, each sold separately, and together they make the working system. It comes in two dimming versions, TRIAC or 0-10V. Choose the TRIAC version to work with a compatible dimmer, or the 0-10V version where your lighting runs from a 0-10V control system.
The details that matter here are practical ones. The IP65 rating means the housing is protected against dust and jets of water, which is why it can stay outside on a terrace or under a pergola. It is a Class I fitting, so it connects to an earth, and like any mains part of a lighting system it is for a qualified electrician to install. Before you order, check two things: that there is room on the ceiling for a housing 42cm long, and which dimming version suits the dimmer or control you plan to use.
