Description

The Otto is a 3 light table lamp built around three hand-formed frosted glass panels threaded onto a vertical polished chrome stem, anchored on a circular chrome base. Each panel sits at a different angle on the stem, creating an asymmetric sculptural form that looks different depending on viewing angle. The frosted glass houses three G4 capsule bulbs (supplied) that cast soft diffused light through the translucent white glass.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and side tables in contemporary and eclectic interiors, the Otto works as both a reading light and an ambient accent piece. The 150mm diameter base and 450mm height suit surfaces 400-600mm wide, providing enough light for reading at bedside or adding atmospheric glow to a hallway console. The lamp plugs into a standard UK socket and the in-line switch sits on the cable approximately 300mm from the base.

Each glass panel is individually hand-formed rather than moulded, so no two Otto lamps are identical in exact shape, slight variations in the glass edge and surface are a feature of the craft process. The frosted finish on the glass hides the bulb filaments when off and diffuses the light evenly when on, avoiding harsh reflections. The polished chrome stem and base provide a cooler metallic contrast to the soft white glass, working well in interiors with chrome taps, handles and other fittings.

The 60W across three G4 bulbs runs from a standard 220-240V UK socket, and the 1.6kg weight keeps the lamp stable on narrower surfaces. The 450mm height sits comfortably beside a bed without the shades reaching eye level when seated.

The Otto uses three G4 capsule bulbs rated at a maximum of 20W each. Bulbs are supplied with the lamp. Halogen G4 capsules are recommended for this lamp. Use only halogen G4 capsules.

Is it dimmable?

No. The lamp does not support dimmer control. The in-line cable switch provides on/off operation only.

How wide is the base and will it fit a typical bedside table?

The base diameter is 150mm and the lamp stands 450mm tall. This fits comfortably on bedside tables 400mm wide or larger, leaving clearance for a book, phone or glass of water alongside the lamp.

Does the glass vary between individual lamps?

Yes. Each glass panel is hand-formed rather than factory-moulded, so there are slight variations in the edge profile and surface texture between individual Otto lamps. This is characteristic of the process, not a defect.
