Opera Three Circle Gold Rimmed Wall Mirror 119cm

Opera is a wall mirror 61cm wide and 119cm tall built as three circles of decreasing size hung in a vertical line, each with a gold rim. The three are joined into one piece rather than being three separate mirrors, and the smallest sits at the bottom.

The arrangement reads as a single object with a direction to it, which is why it hangs one way up: inverted it looks like a mistake rather than a variation. Three circles in a column suit a narrow wall better than one large mirror does, and the falling sizes draw the eye downwards, which works in a hallway or on a stair wall where people are moving past rather than standing still. The largest circle is a working mirror; the two below it are decorative. It is not rated for a bathroom.

The rims are metal on an mdf carrier with mirrored glass, and nothing needs assembling. At 9kg it is a one person hang on the two hooks and plugs supplied. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth and keep liquid away from where the circles join, since anything running into that seam sits between the layers where no cloth reaches. Wipe the rims dry. Because the piece is taller than it is wide and hangs from two points, it is worth checking it sits level before you let go of it. The falling sizes also mean it reads differently at different heights: hung low the largest circle is at eye level, hung high the smallest sits where you look, and the two are not the same object.
