Description

The Olgiata-E is a traditional lantern wall light in white, made to sit upward so the lantern stands above its curved wall bracket. The body is white plastic and the hexagonal lantern has clear plastic panels under a pitched roof, finished with a turned finial on top and a matching one at the base. It is 30cm high and 20cm long, and it stands 20cm out from the wall. It takes a single E27 bulb, which is not included, so you can choose the colour of light and the brightness that suit your home. With an IP44 rating it is protected from splashing water, which means it can live outdoors on a house wall.

It suits a front door, a porch, a back door or a garden wall, wherever a clear-panelled lantern helps mark the way home after dark. The classic carriage-lamp shape sits comfortably against brick, render or painted woodwork, and the white finish looks crisp on a pale house or makes a bright contrast against darker brick. Fitted as a pair either side of a door, it gives a balanced, welcoming entrance. It is a good choice for a period cottage, a Victorian terrace or a newer home that wants a traditional touch. At 0.75KG it is light and easy to handle while it is being fitted.

Plastic does not rust, which suits a light that lives outside all year. The fitting runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and it has no switch of its own: it is switched at the wall. As a wired-in mains light it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download.
