Description
The large Obra wine rack stands 105cm tall, 54cm wide and 26cm deep, and holds 28 bottles. The frame is dark iron welded from flat bar, and inside it seven tiers of looping wire cradles run front to back, four bottles wide on every tier. A slab of solid mango wood caps the top, left at its full thickness with the saw marks still on the edge, and the iron uprights carry on past the bottom tier into short splayed feet.
At 26cm deep this is a narrow piece of furniture, and the wood top sits at 105cm, above the bottles, where it will take a tray of glasses or a decanter. That suits the end of a kitchen run, a dining room wall, or a gap beside a chimney breast too narrow for anything else. Every bottle loads and draws from the front, so the rack can stand with its back flat to the wall.
The frame is iron and the top is mango wood. The iron is left rough and textured rather than smoothed to a paint film, so the surface varies over the frame, and the top is a single piece of wood, which means the grain and the colour differ from rack to rack. The Obra rack is made in two sizes, this large one holding 28 bottles and a small one holding 12.

Frequently Asked
How many bottles does it hold?
28, on seven tiers of four.
What are the measurements?
105cm tall, 54cm wide and 26cm deep.
Is there a smaller one?
Yes. The Obra rack is also made in a small size holding 12 bottles.
What is the top made from?
Solid mango wood, on an iron frame.
How do I look after it?
Rub an edible oil such as olive or walnut into the wood top with a cloth to nourish and protect it, though the oil will darken the tone. Use coasters for drinks on the top, since the finish marks on contact with a hot cup or with liquid, and blot any spill immediately with a dry cloth rather than reaching for a chemical cleaner.
