Description
The Oblyra is a wall light built from a 150mm sphere of natural Spanish alabaster mounted onto an angled black metal plate. The alabaster ball sits forward of the wall on the diamond-oriented plate, with the G9 lamp concealed inside the stone so the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser. A small visible fixing screw secures the sphere to the plate where the two elements meet.
Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedside walls and bathrooms outside the immediate splash zone, the Oblyra works well in pairs flanking a bed, mirror or doorway, or as a single accent at the turn of a staircase. The compact 150mm diameter keeps the projection tight to the wall, making it suitable for narrow circulation spaces where a larger pendant or sconce would be intrusive. The G9 socket accepts standard capsule lamps up to the wattage stated on the fitting.
The alabaster is cut from a single block, so each sphere shows different veining, mineral banding and tonal shifts when lit. The contrast between the warm, translucent stone and the matte black plate gives the fitting a graphic, architectural quality rather than a purely decorative one. The plate is rotated 45 degrees so its corners point up, down and to the sides, framing the sphere in negative space and adding visual movement to an otherwise static composition.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Oblyra take?
The fitting uses a single G9 capsule lamp, sold separately. Most buyers pair it with a warm-white LED G9 between 2700K and 3000K to bring out the honey tones and natural veining in the alabaster.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each sphere is hand-cut from a single block of natural Spanish alabaster, so veining patterns, mineral banding and tonal variation differ between individual lights. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a flaw.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Oblyra does not carry a published IP rating, so it should not be installed in bathroom Zones 0, 1 or 2. It can be fitted in a bathroom outside these zones, away from direct water contact, subject to the installing electrician's assessment under the current wiring regulations.
Can it be installed pointing down or sideways?
The angled plate is fixed in orientation, with the diamond corners pointing up, down and to either side. The fitting is designed to be installed plate-flush to a vertical wall; it is not intended for ceiling mounting.
