Nora 1 Light Glass Wall Light - White/Wood

The Nora is a single-bulb wall light combining a white metal backplate, a natural wood accent piece, and a clear-to-frosted cylindrical glass shade. The shade tapers slightly from base to rim, with the glass transitioning from clear at the top to a soft frosted finish near the wood base. An E27 socket inside takes a standard Edison screw bulb (sold separately), allowing the choice of LED, halogen or decorative filament.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, and living rooms the Nora provides ambient rather than task lighting. The frosted lower section of the glass diffuses light downwards and outwards, while the clear upper section allows some direct light to wash up the wall. The 230mm projection from the wall means the light sits forward enough to cast a noticeable glow rather than sitting flush. Pairs well when used symmetrically either side of a bed, mirror or along a hallway at 1.5-1.8m height.

The white metal backplate measures 180mm wide and the natural wood accent sits between the backplate and the glass shade, giving a Scandinavian profile that works with pale timber, white walls and neutral tones. The glass shade stands 357mm tall and weighs 1.7kg once the bulb is fitted, so the fitting requires secure wall fixing into masonry or a timber stud rather than plasterboard alone. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb chosen. Pair with a dimmable LED and compatible dimmer for adjustable output.

What bulb does the Nora take?

The Nora takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair it with a 6-10W warm-white LED (2700K-3000K) for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting. Decorative filament bulbs also work well if the clear upper glass section is visible.

Is the Nora dimmable?

The fitting itself supports dimming when paired with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Check that your chosen bulb is rated as dimmable and matches your dimmer type (trailing-edge dimmers work best with most LED bulbs).

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The specification table does not list an IP rating, so the Nora is not certified for bathroom zones requiring water or splash protection. Use it in dry areas only unless you confirm an IP rating with the supplier of the fitting.

How is the wood accent fixed?
