Description
The Noon is a 450mm diameter sputnik-style pendant light built around a polished nickel sphere that radiates clear glass rods and droplets in a starburst configuration. Nine E14 bulb positions sit among the glass elements, each taking a candle or golf-ball bulb (sold separately) up to 20W. The glass forms alternate between cylindrical tubes and elongated teardrop shapes, creating a dense sculptural globe that catches and refracts light from multiple angles.
Designed for dining tables, entrance halls and double-height voids where ceiling height allows a drop of at least 600mm from ceiling to sphere, the Noon works in rooms with ceilings of 2.7m or higher. The 1837mm maximum drop adjusts down to 587mm minimum on installation, allowing the pendant to be set at the correct height above a table or in relation to eye level on a stairwell. The polished nickel canopy and rod suit standard UK ceiling roses.
The clear glass maintains transparency when unlit and refracts into multiple highlights when the bulbs are on, turning the entire sphere into a reflective and refractive object rather than a simple shade. The polished nickel core acts as a secondary reflector, bouncing light back through the glass and out into the room. At 5.5kg the pendant carries substantial weight and requires secure ceiling fixings — verify joist location or use appropriate ceiling anchors during installation.
The Noon is dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Most users fit warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K to soften the bright reflections from the glass and nickel surfaces.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Noon take?
The pendant takes nine E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to soften the reflections from the glass and polished nickel.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, when fitted with dimmable E14 bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb type and dimmer model — LED bulbs require an LED-rated trailing-edge dimmer.
What ceiling height is needed?
The pendant works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. The drop adjusts between 587mm and 1837mm during installation, allowing it to be set 700-900mm above a dining table or positioned appropriately in an entrance hall or stairwell.
How is the pendant secured to the ceiling?
At 5.5kg the Noon is heavier than many fabric-shade pendants and requires secure ceiling fixings. If the ceiling rose is fixed into a joist the standard fixings are sufficient. On plasterboard ceilings without joist backing, use appropriate ceiling anchors or toggle fixings rated for the pendant's weight.
