Description

Clear glass shades hang from a black frame with polished chrome detail picked out along the metalwork, and because the glass is left clear the lamps inside stay part of the look. Four E14 holders sit within, and candle lamps are the natural choice: a plain candle lamp or a flame tip, whichever you prefer above the glass. At 46cm across it has enough presence for a dining table without swallowing the room. We would reach for warm white LED candles here.

The drop is adjustable, so it can hang low over a table or island, or be shortened for a hallway or a stairwell landing where headroom matters. It suits rooms that want a bit of sparkle from the glass without a heavy shade blocking the light, and it works as well over a run of kitchen worktop as it does above a table set for supper. Dimming is possible, provided the lamps you choose are dimmable, which gives you a bright setting for cooking and a softer one for eating. It is intended for dry rooms indoors, away from splashes and steam, so a bathroom is not the place for it.

The shades are glass and the frame metal in a black finish, with the chrome elements polished to a bright shine. Dust the glass with a dry microfibre cloth and, when the lamps are cool and the power is off, lift any marks with a barely damp cloth and dry straight after; keep sprays and anything abrasive away from the chrome. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included. The same design comes in a smaller three light size, and in polished chrome with clear glass or antique brass with amber glass if black is not the finish for your room.
