Description

A trio of clear glass shades hangs beneath a black frame, with polished chrome detail picking up the light where the arms meet the centre. At 36cm across it has enough presence to read as a proper light without crowding a modest room. Each shade takes a small E14 candle lamp, and because the glass is clear the lamp is part of the look, so a plain candle or a flame tip both sit well. We would choose warm white LED candles for it.

The drop is set when the light goes up, anywhere from a short hang down to 1.4m, so it suits a dining table where you want the shades near eye level, or a hall and landing where headroom matters more. We like it above a run of kitchen stools, and in bedrooms where one central fitting has to do all the work. It will dim if you fit dimmable lamps and pair them with a suitable dimmer. This is a fitting for ordinary dry rooms indoors, kept clear of splashes and steam, and it needs an earthed supply.
