Description

The Noctis is a 6cm diameter cylindrical pendant finished in metallic silver with a 400mm body length and a single GU10 downlight fitting at the base. The narrow cylinder directs light downward in a focused cone, making it a task light rather than ambient lighting. The 2m black fabric cable is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to hang at varying heights depending on ceiling height and the surface being lit.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, worktops and bedside tables where directed light is needed without spreading too wide, the Noctis works as a single unit or in a row of two or three pendants spaced 400-600mm apart. The 6cm diameter keeps the visual footprint small, so multiple pendants can be clustered without overwhelming the ceiling plane. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas away from bathrooms and outdoor exposure.

The silver finish on the metal body gives a soft metallic sheen that pairs with stainless steel appliances, polished chrome fittings and both warm and cool-toned interiors. The GU10 socket accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to the fitting's maximum wattage (bulb sold separately), and the pendant is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable GU10 bulb. The compact proportions and narrow beam spread make the Noctis better suited to task lighting zones than general room illumination.

What bulb does it take?

The Noctis takes a standard GU10 twist-and-lock bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED between 4-7W and 2700K-3000K warm white for task lighting over kitchen islands or worktops. The fitting is dimmable when used with a dimmable GU10 bulb and compatible dimmer switch.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor areas away from direct water exposure, steam and high humidity zones.

How many pendants are needed over a kitchen island?

For a standard 1.8-2.4m island, two or three Noctis pendants spaced 400-600mm apart provide even task lighting coverage. A single pendant works for smaller breakfast bars or side tables where focused light is needed in one spot.

Is the cable length adjustable?

Yes. The 2m fabric cable can be shortened during installation by looping excess cable inside the ceiling rose or by trimming and re-terminating the cable if you are competent with electrical work. The pendant cannot be lengthened beyond the 2m supplied cable length.
