Description

The Nivia is a slim LED wall light made as a reading light, finished in matt black throughout. A straight upright rises from a narrow wall plate, bends into an angled arm and ends in a small cylindrical head that throws a focused beam. It stands 38cm tall and reaches 25cm out from the wall, and the head itself is 10cm long and 2.5cm across. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 3W and gives 210 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, with a colour rendering index of 85 or more, and its 24 degree beam puts the light where you are reading rather than across the room.

We like it best beside a bed, where it sits clear of the bedside table and lights a book while keeping the rest of the room calm and dim. It suits a favourite reading chair in the living room just as well, or a desk in a study or home office: anywhere you want a pool of task light rather than a general glow. The modern, pared back shape stays quiet on the wall, so it sits happily in a minimal bedroom or beside warmer, more traditional furniture. It is rated IP20, which makes it a light for dry rooms only.

The structure is iron and the head is aluminium, both in the same matt black, which gives the light a clean, even look from every angle.
