Description

The Nit/80/R is an outdoor table lamp that is also a low, round table: a flat top 80cm across, finished in Terracotta, sits on a flared drum of woven orange Nautical Cord, with a light ring 17cm across set into the centre of the top. It stands 42cm tall overall, with the base 40.5cm high and 72cm across where it meets the ground. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 3W and gives 133 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90, so faces, food and the orange cord keep their true colours. That is a soft, low glow for an evening outside rather than light to read by.

It is rated IP44 and made for outdoor use, so it suits a terrace, a patio or a corner of the garden. It is just as happy indoors, in a living room beside the sofa or in a bedroom, where it works as a low table with its own gentle light. It runs from a rechargeable battery, charged by USB-C, so it does not need to sit near the house: charge it, then move it to wherever you want to spend the evening. Its 80cm top leaves plenty of room for glasses and plates around the light ring.

It is made from aluminium, HPL and a synthetic fibre Nautical Cord, and works at 5V DC as a Class III fitting. The design is by Gonzalo Milà. The cord is strung closely around the frame, so the drum reads as a solid shape by day and lets the glow from inside show through after dark. Give the battery a full charge by USB-C before an evening outside, and keep the light ring in the centre of the top clear of plates and glasses.
