Nick L Gold is a full length wall mirror, 189cm high by 106cm wide, in a deep moulded frame finished with hand applied gold metal leaf. The frame's profile is drawn from a folded sheet of paper, so the surface steps and turns rather than running flat, and the leaf catches the light in fragments along each fold instead of reflecting it evenly. Because the leaf is laid on by hand, no two frames break the light in quite the same way.

This is a large piece and it is meant to be seen, so it suits a bedroom wall, a dressing area or a wide hallway with room to read it properly. It hangs in two directions. It is not rated for bathroom use, but the frame is polyurethane and is not affected by humidity, which makes it more forgiving than a timber frame in a room that warms and cools. The frame is 6cm deep, so the mirror stands proud of the wall and the folded profile throws its own shadow, which is part of how the leaf reads. Two hanging directions are available. At 106cm the mirror is wide for its height, so it reads as a panel rather than a narrow dressing mirror, and it needs a clear run of wall rather than an alcove.
