Description

The Neviano is a slim LED outdoor wall light in a black and white finish: a long black bar with a white plastic diffuser running down each long edge and neat black end caps at either end. It is 58cm long and 6.5cm wide, and it stands just 5cm out from the wall, so it sits close and tidy on a house front. The LED is integrated and gives 2,100lm of warm white light at 3000K. It is rated IP55, which means it is protected against dust and against jets of water, so it belongs outdoors on an exterior wall.

Because the light leaves through the two white edges while the black face stays dark, it throws a soft wash across the wall on either side of the bar. Set upright beside a front door, along a run of outside steps or on a timber-clad wall, it marks the way in the evening and picks out the texture of the surface behind it. A pair either side of an entrance gives a balanced, architectural look, and the black face sits comfortably against render, dark cladding and natural wood. At 2,100lm there is plenty of light for a path or a porch, while the warm 3000K colour keeps the welcome gentle rather than stark.

The body is black steel and plastic, and the two diffusers are white plastic. The LED and its driver are not replaceable, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, so an ordinary wall switch controls it. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and weighs 0.96KG. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download, so they are worth having ready on the day of fitting.
