Description

A two seat rattan sofa, 130cm wide and 70cm deep, standing 84cm at the back. The back and both arms are made from closely spaced vertical rattan rods running in one continuous sweep from arm to arm, bound top and bottom into thicker bent poles. Under the seat the frame is built from heavier rattan poles with diagonal braces running down to each leg. The tone is a pale honey, lighter across the rods and deeper where the poles are thickest.

The seat is 122cm wide and 55cm deep and sits 39cm off the ground, which is low, so this is a sofa to sit back in rather than upright at. Garden rooms and conservatories are the two places it is made for, and it is rated for outdoor use, so a paved terrace takes it as well, with a chair from the same range beside it. At 8.9kg one person can move it, and it should be stored inside over the winter or covered against the rain. The cushion is not included.

The frame is rattan throughout. It is shaped with steam and then joined with rawhide, which adds strength at the joints. Rubber stoppers come with it, packed separately, to go on the base of each foot if wanted, keeping it clear of wet ground and off a surface it might scratch. Sofa cushions are not included.
