Nelly Globe Pendant Light - Matt White

Nelly is a simple globe pendant: a round aluminium sphere in a matt white finish, hung from a black textile cable. The sphere is open at its base, so the light from its single GU10 lamp is directed downwards, onto a table, a desk or the floor beneath it, while the white shell gives a clean, even shape from every side. It comes in two sizes, 8cm and 14cm, both with the same plain globe form, and both on a 1.5m textile cable. It is a modern, unfussy fitting for rooms where you want useful light without decoration getting in the way.

It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms: living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, studies, hallways and landings. The 8cm size is small enough to hang in a row or a loose group over a dining table, where several small globes read as one simple arrangement, or singly beside a bed in place of a table lamp, leaving the bedside table clear. The 14cm size gives a little more presence on its own, over a desk, beside a favourite reading chair or in a hallway where a single pendant marks the way through. Because the shape is so plain, it sits comfortably in modern rooms and mixes easily with other lights rather than competing with them.

The structure is aluminium with a matt white finish, and the cable is textile. It takes one GU10 lamp, which is not included, so choose a GU10 lamp to suit the light you want. It is an on-off switched fitting for a 220-240V mains supply, and as a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 2 year guarantee. We like the matt white globe against a dark painted wall, where it looks crisp, though it almost melts into a pale one.
