Description
The NAVI is a recessed round downlight built to take an MR16 lamp on a GX5.3 base, running at 12 volts AC or DC to a maximum of 10W. It drops flush into the ceiling to give a neat, trimmed point of light rather than a surface-mounted housing. In the US this style is the familiar recessed can light, here sized for a low-voltage MR16 reflector lamp so the beam character follows whichever bulb you fit. The fitting itself is supplied without a lamp, leaving the choice of beam angle, wattage up to 10W and colour temperature to suit the scheme.
Being a single low-voltage downlight, the NAVI works best as part of a planned layout rather than as a sole light source, so several are usually spaced across a ceiling to wash a room evenly. It suits hallways, landings, kitchens and living spaces where a discreet recessed finish is wanted, and the chosen MR16 lamp sets how tightly or widely each point throws. With an IP20 rating it is for dry interior rooms only and should be kept out of bathrooms, porches and any damp or outdoor position. Plan the spacing around the beam angle of the lamp you select so the pools of light overlap at the working level.
The housing is aluminium alloy in a matte chrome finish, a compact Ø81 mm trim that sits 21 mm into the void and weighs just 74 g. It runs on a 12V supply, so it needs a suitable low-voltage transformer rather than a direct mains connection, and the GX5.3 holder accepts a standard MR16 lamp. The round form recesses into the ceiling cut-out for a flush look. The NAVI sits within a wider range of recessed fittings, so matching downlights and trims can be specified across a room.

Frequently Asked
Does this downlight need a transformer?
Yes. The NAVI runs on a 12V supply, either AC or DC, so it must be wired through a suitable low-voltage transformer or driver rather than connected straight to mains. Size the transformer to the total wattage of all the lamps on the circuit.
What cut-out hole does it need?
The fitting has an overall trim diameter of Ø81 mm and recesses 21 mm into the ceiling void. The cut-out is the hole the body drops through, so confirm the recommended aperture against the spec sheet before cutting, as it is smaller than the visible trim.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The NAVI is rated IP20, which is for dry indoor rooms only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, shower zones and any damp or outdoor location, and choose an IP-rated fitting for those areas instead.
How do I keep it clean?
Wipe the matte chrome trim with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth once the lamp has cooled and the power is off. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could mark the aluminium finish, and do not let moisture reach the lamp holder.
