Description
The Navi is a recessed downlight that sets a single MR16 reflector lamp flush into the ceiling, giving a neat point of directional light with no visible bulk. It runs on 12V (AC or DC) through a GX5.3 cap and takes a lamp rated up to 10W, so the beam spread and colour temperature follow whichever MR16 lamp you fit. American buyers will recognise this format as a low-voltage recessed can light, the small round trim sitting level with the ceiling line. At Ø81mm across and only 21mm deep, it suits ceilings where there is little space above the plasterboard.
Indoor rooms are where this fitting belongs, from hallways and landings to living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms. Because the output depends on the MR16 lamp chosen, a tighter beam works well over a worktop or a piece of furniture, while a wider lamp gives more general fill across a room. As a rule, several Navi downlights placed in a grid cover a room more evenly than one or two, with spacing judged against the ceiling height and the beam angle of the lamps you select. The IP20 rating means it is for dry indoor positions only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, kitchens near sinks and any covered outdoor area.
Construction is aluminium alloy in a white finish, a light frame at just 74g that holds the lamp securely in the recess. The fitting recesses into the ceiling and is driven at 12V, so a suitable low-voltage transformer must supply the lamp; check the transformer rating covers the total load of the lamps connected to it. The round trim and white face keep it discreet against a painted ceiling, and dimming depends on the lamp and transformer combination rather than the fitting itself. The Navi range includes matching downlights so you can keep one look across a ceiling layout.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a transformer?
Yes. The Navi runs at 12V (AC or DC), so it needs a low-voltage transformer to power the MR16 lamp. Make sure the transformer rating covers the combined wattage of every lamp connected to it, with each Navi taking a lamp up to 10W.
What is the cut-out hole size?
The fitting itself measures Ø81mm across the trim, so plan the ceiling cut-out to suit the recess body rather than the visible trim diameter. Always confirm the exact aperture against the fitting before cutting, as the cut-out sits beneath the trim that finishes flush with the ceiling.
Can the colour temperature be chosen?
Yes, indirectly. The Navi takes a separate MR16 lamp, so the colour temperature, beam angle and brightness are set by whichever lamp you fit. This lets you pick a warm white for a relaxed room or a cooler tone for a kitchen or task area.
How do I clean it?
Switch off the power, let any lamp cool, then wipe the white trim with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners that could mark the painted aluminium face, and do not let moisture reach the lamp or electrical connections.
