Description

The Nao is a circular wall light with a slim reading light built in, finished in matt black. A round backplate sits flat against the wall, and from near its top edge a small cylindrical head on a short stem is adjustable, angling so you can point the light just where you need it. The head is 2.5cm across and 10cm long and holds an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. It gives 180 lumens from 3W in a warm white 3000K, with a CRI of 80 or more and a 110° beam. A switch on the backplate turns it on and off, and the backplate also has a USB port.

Its natural place is beside the bed. Fitted either side of a headboard, a pair gives each of you your own light to read by, and the USB port keeps a phone charging within reach at night, so the bedside table stays clear of a table lamp. It suits a reading corner just as well, above an armchair or beside a window seat, and it earns its place in a study or guest room where a small, focused light is more useful than a ceiling fitting. It is not dimmable, so think of it as a simple on and off reading light rather than one for setting a mood. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

It is made of iron and aluminium, with a smooth matt black finish that looks crisp against white or pale walls and just as good on a deep painted one. It runs on 220 to 240V mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 3 year guarantee.
