Description

Nao is a modern LED wall light with a reading light built in. A circular base sits flat against the wall, and from it a slim cylindrical shade reaches out on an adjustable joint, so you can angle the beam onto your book rather than across the whole room. The shade is 2.5cm across and 10cm long, and the whole fitting is finished in matt black. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. It draws 3W and gives 180 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, with a 110° beam and a CRI of 80 or more, so the colours in a book or magazine look natural.

This is a reading light first, so it belongs beside the bed, where you can read late without the main light on. A pair either side of a headboard works well, and it suits a reading chair in a living room, a guest room or a quiet corner of a study just as happily. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It switches on and off with the push button on its base and it is not dimmable, so the light is simply on or off, which is all most bedside reading asks for.

The structure is iron and the base is aluminium, both finished in the same matt black, and the shade pivots at its joint so you can set it where you want it each night. It runs on 220-240V mains and, like any mains fitting, is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. As a styling note, matt black reads crisply against pale plaster, white paint or a light timber headboard, and it sits well alongside black picture frames or door handles elsewhere in the room.
