Description

The Nans S/21 is a woven outdoor pendant light: a rounded cylinder of open synthetic fibre hung from a slim Graphite Brown structure. The shade is Beige (with Light Blue and Light Grey), the three colours woven through a diamond lattice that lets the light glow out through every gap. The shade is 24.7cm tall and 21.6cm across, and the pendant hangs at a drop of anywhere between 40cm and 200cm. Inside sits an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy. It gives 386 lumens at 9.5W in a warm 2700K white, with a CRI of 90, so faces, food and fabrics keep their true colours.

Rated IP54 and made for outdoor use, the Nans S/21 is as at home under a covered porch or over a terrace table as it is indoors. Inside, hang it over a dining table, where a lower drop brings the light close to the plates, or in a living room as a warm pool of light beside a sofa or reading chair. Two or three in a row work well along a long dining table, the woven shades giving a relaxed, garden feel. It is TRIAC-dimmable, so with a compatible dimmer you can take it from bright light for dinner down to a gentle glow late in the evening.

The fitting is made from stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic fibre, with the Graphite Brown structure and rod carrying the woven Beige shade. The open weave keeps it light to the eye, so it never crowds a table or a small terrace. It runs on 230V mains and is a Class I fitting, wired in by an electrician; as a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. With the LED built in and a single rating that covers indoors and out, it is a practical pendant you can hang wherever the table is.
