The Nans Portable M/49 is an outdoor table lamp in the shape of a lantern, with a tapered woven shade beneath a round Graphite Brown cap and a wooden carry handle. The shade is Brown (with Beige and Light Grey), an open lattice of synthetic fibre that lets the light through in a warm, patterned glow. It stands 48.4cm tall, and the shade itself is 38.7cm tall and 25.8cm across. Inside sits a 6.3W integrated LED giving 393 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, with a CRI of 90, so colours look natural and there is no bulb to buy or change.

With its IP54 rating it suits outdoor use as well as indoor rooms. We like it on a garden table, out on a terrace or beside a seat on the patio on a summer evening, where the woven shade casts a soft light around it. Indoors, it sits well on a side table in the living room or on a bedside table in the bedroom, and its size suits a console or a deep shelf too. The carry handle makes it easy to lift and move between spots.

The lamp is made from stainless steel, aluminium, teak wood and synthetic fibre, and the dark Graphite Brown structure gives a crisp frame to the lighter weave of the shade.
