Description

The Nans Catenary S/16/4L is an outdoor pendant light with four small woven shades hung from one cable that runs in a gentle zigzag, like a line of lanterns. Each shade is a neat cylinder 16.5cm tall and 16.7cm across, in Red (with Orange and Beige) synthetic fibre on a Graphite Brown structure. The light is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. Its LED power is 32W and it gives 1140 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so food, faces and planting keep their true colour.

Rated IP54, it is made for outdoor use, so it is a natural fit over a dining table on a patio, along a terrace or strung across a garden where you sit out on summer evenings. It works indoors too, in a long dining room or a generous living room where one fitting needs to light a wide table or seating area. The run is 500cm long, with the shades spaced 100cm apart, end spans of 50cm and 100cm, and drops of 70cm and 83cm, so the lanterns hang at slightly different heights along the line. A tensor 400cm long runs from each end.

The structure is stainless steel and aluminium, finished in Graphite Brown, and the shades are synthetic fibre, with an open weave that lets the light through each one. It is a Class I fitting that runs at 230V, and it plugs in, so there is no hardwiring to arrange. Before you order, measure the stretch you want to cover: the 500cm run, with a 400cm tensor at each end, will tell you whether it fits between your two points. It has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket. Outdoors, the plug and the adaptor must sit in a covered, weatherproof outdoor socket.
