Description

The Nans Balis S/140 is a long linear pendant light with a woven shade, made for outdoor spaces as well as inside the home. It measures 140cm in length and 27cm across, with a shade 13cm tall. The shade is red with orange and beige, and it hangs beneath a slim brown structure. Light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 44W and gives 1761lm at a warm 2400K, and with a CRI of 90, food, faces and fabrics keep their natural colours. It is dimmable with a compatible TRIAC dimmer, so you can turn it down low for a long supper.

Rated IP54 and made for outdoor use, this pendant works on a covered terrace, under a pergola or above a patio table. It is just as at home indoors over a dining table or a living room seating area. At 140cm long it suits a long table, and it has a maximum drop of 200cm. It is for anyone who eats outside on summer evenings and wants the same warm light they have indoors. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It also needs a Nans 24V power supply, sold separately, which powers the LED. Without it the pendant will not light, so order the two together.

It is made from aluminium, synthetic fibre and stainless steel, a combination suited to a fitting meant for life outdoors. The open weave lets the light through along its whole length, while the slim brown structure along the top keeps the line clean. The IP54 rating means it is protected against dust and splashing water, and the canopy is 6cm tall. As a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. Once it is in, there is no bulb to replace, just warm light for evenings inside or out.
