Description
The Nakuru desk is a clear glass top carried on a frame of slim square tube. The top runs 150 by 80cm, and beneath it at each end sits a second glass shelf in its own three sided surround, open towards the middle so the centre of the desk is left clear for the knees. The four legs taper slightly to the floor and are tied together low down by a thin stretcher, which is the only bar crossing the space underneath.
At 150cm wide this is a full desk rather than a writing table, with room for a laptop, a lamp and a stack of paper without any of them crowding another. It stands 79cm high, and the two glass shelves sit well above the knee, so they take the files, the notebook and the box of cables that would otherwise be on the top. Because both the top and the shelves are glass and the frame is thin, the desk shows the floor and the wall behind it, and in a small study or a bedroom corner it takes up less of the room than its footprint suggests.
The frame is iron under a brass finish and every panel is glass. The desk wants firm and level ground beneath it, and it is not made to stand anywhere that gets extremely hot. Nakuru runs to a console table, a coffee table, a drinks table and a pair of side tables built the same way.

Frequently Asked
How big is the top?
150cm by 80cm, standing 79cm from the floor.
What are the two compartments?
Two glass shelves, one under each end of the top, each held by the frame on three sides and open towards the middle.
Where should it stand?
On firm, level ground, and away from anywhere that gets extremely hot.
Can a hot drink go straight on the glass?
No. Very hot and very cold items should not be set directly onto the glass, and nothing hard or pointed should be struck against it.
How do I look after it?
Use a glass cleaner or warm soapy water on the glass and a damp cloth on the metal. Keep anything abrasive and any harsh chemical off both. Dry and polish with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
