Description

The Naav is a ceramic mug holding 650ml, the extra large of the range. It carries a two tone reactive glaze in mustard, the lighter tone finely speckled and the darker one glossy, and the two meet along a diagonal rather than blending into one another. No two mugs carry the transition in the same place.

At 650ml this is the largest mug the Naav range is made in, and a capacity of that order suits coffee at a slow breakfast, a pot of tea drunk from a single cup, or soup. It weighs 0.45kg empty, so there is some weight in the hand before anything goes into it. It is sold singly.

The body is ceramic, shaped and painted by hand, so the glaze is where one mug differs from the next and the two tones fall where they fall. The Naav range is also made in blue, and both colours run to a small mug and a large mug, each sold in pairs, alongside this one.

Frequently Asked

How much does it hold?

650ml.

Is it sold singly?

Yes. This is one mug. The small and the large Naav mugs come in pairs.

Can it go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes. It is listed as safe in both, and as food safe.

Will every mug look the same?

No. The glaze is reactive and moves as it fires, so the two tones meet at a different point on every one.

How do I look after it?

Wash it after every use so it does not stain, using a mild detergent, and do not leave it to soak. Handle it carefully, because the rim will chip.
