Description

The Murwara full length mirror stands 176cm tall and 77cm wide, in a narrow flat frame cast in aluminium and finished in antique brass. The sides run straight up from square lower corners and close in a full semicircular arch at the top. The frame is slim for the height, so the glass carries most of the face and the brass reads as a line around it rather than a border. Along its length the surface is uneven, textured from the casting and paler where it catches the light.

At 176cm it shows a whole figure. It can lean against a wall or be mounted on one, and mounted the frame sits 3cm off the wall. Leaning in a living room between a sofa and a chair, it brings the far side of the room back into view. A bedroom, a hallway or a dressing area is where it does the same job. It weighs 24.04kg.

The frame is sand cast: molten aluminium is poured into a sand mould, which is what gives the arch its slightly imperfect, textured surface. The glass is plain mirror. The Murwara range also holds an arched wall mirror sized for a mantelpiece, an arched mirror set with antique glass, and a plain wall mirror in a small and a large.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

176cm tall, 77cm wide and 3cm deep.

Can it lean, or does it have to be hung?

Either. It can lean against a wall or be mounted on one.

How heavy is it?

24.04kg.

What is the frame made from?

Cast aluminium finished in antique brass. It is sand cast, so the surface is textured rather than smooth.

How do I look after it?

Use a microfibre cloth in a circular motion, and do that regularly. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish, so keep them away from it.
