Description

The Mos 03 is a large tiered pendant light whose shade is a stack of rings in pleated translucent ribbon. The rings widen towards the middle and narrow again towards the top and the base, so the whole form reads as a soft, rounded tower. It comes in two shades, White Translucent Ribbon or Cream Translucent Ribbon, and when it is lit the light glows gently through every fine pleat. The shade is 92cm tall and 120cm across, and it hangs on slim cables from a round canopy 14cm across.

At 120cm across, this is a pendant for a room with space around it and height above it. We like it over a long dining table, which it lights from above, or hung in the centre of a large living room, where it fills the ceiling without crowding the furniture. The White Translucent Ribbon shade sits crisply in a pale, modern scheme, while the Cream Translucent Ribbon shade brings a softer tone to warm woods and natural colours. It runs on 230V mains and is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The fitting is made of iron, and it is a Class I pendant, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. It takes six E27 bulbs, which are sold separately and not included. They are what light the shade from within, and each should be 15W or less, so a matching set of LED bulbs is the sensible choice and gives the same tone through every ring.
